  3. What does the commandment to honor parents suggest is the basis of what makes persons valuable?

  4. In the list of roles that were given on Sunday for being a "Good Enough Parent"  (see the last slide below)... If you are a parent, which one of those traits is one you would like to grow in?  If you are not a parent, which one do you think is most important?

  5. What were the three most important rules in your home when you were growing up?  What do they reveal about you?

  6.       As a child, why did you obey rules?  Is this different from why you obey rules today?  Why or why not?

  7.     In Matthew 10:34-37 how does Jesus compare to our typical understanding of "family values" ?

  8.      In Matthew 15:1-6 How did the Pharisees sometimes avoid their duty to their parents?

  9.       In Ephesians 6:1-4 the phrase "In the Lord" is used.  How should it effect the way we raise our kids?

  10.    Share an incident in your family in which love bound up brokenness

  11.   As Christians, we belong not only to our biological family, but to the family of God.  Reflect on a time when your membership in the family of God brought deliverance and blessing for yourself or others.
