MISSIONS:  Each month our church provides  ministry opportunities where you can
get your hands dirty helping those in need.  We strive to reach out to the poor, the homeless,
 the sick, the prisoner.  There is a table in the Lobby where you can sign up for this month's
 mission projects.  Habitat for Humanity, Soup Kitchen, sheltering homeless families,
and Compassion International are just a few examples. In addition, we do national and global
misison trips.  Here's what's coming up next !

*      Tuesday December 2nd 2008   Prison Ministry
Men - join us as we deliver Christmas care packages to prisoners at Graterford prison.
We will meet for lunch here at the church at 12:00 PM, car pool together and return by
5:30 PM

*      January   2009      Homeless Family Project
We will have three homeless families living in our church for the month
of January.   By helping to make meals, acting as an overnight host, you
can help us create a home for these needy families.  For more information,

     *       August 1&2  2009     Mini- Mission Trip to Re-hab Inner City Church

A beautiful old North Philly church has become home to our friend Rev. Adan’s grassroots ministry.  We're going to spend a Saturday and Sunday (9-5) making a significant dent in the long list of needed repairs and upgrades.  There will be a variety of work, appropriate for ages ~9 and up.  Just like a mission trip, but closer and shorter, and you'll sleep in your own bed!  

        Painting, gardening, building a wheelchair ramp, cleanup, and much more!
        Worship on Sunday afternoon at West Kensington Ministry
        Two lunches and a dinner provided
        Carpooling from church
        Cost: estimated ~$40 ($80/family)

     Medical Mission Trip to Costa Rica & Nicaragua

One of our own, Joanie Brumbaugh recently returned from her medical mission trip.  Church members donated over 300 pounds of medical supplies which Joanie and her team were able to use to help the poorest of the poor in these nations.   The vast majority of the children Joanie worked with had parasites of some sort.

  • The Prisoner: Thanks to all the men who helped deliver 3200 Christmas presents to inmates at Graterford Prison in December!
     

  •   The Homeless:  Thanks to everyone who acted as hosts and provided meals and baby sitting to the two homeless families that lived in our church during January!
