SETUP CREW: Elements are stored in the Sacristry closet behind the choir. (NOTE: Back up supplies are stored in the AV Closet in the basement which can be reached by the left stairway in the space we call the narthex (the hallway that leads into the sanctuary).
There are four areas to set up: CHANCEL, REFLECTION STATIONS, ART STATION and PRAYER STATION. -------------------------------------------- CHANCEL (front of the church) 1. Set up Communion table by removing traditional elements, placing two table cloths and various candles, leaving room for bread basket, cup and pitcher. 2. Retrieve communion ware and bread basket from Sacristry closet. 3. Put bread in basket, grapejuice in pitcher. Grape juice is stored in refrigerator in Fellowship Hall Kitchen. 4. Retrieve the rug and lay it down the steps, and place the Rust Bucket with Sticks in a pleasing location. 5. Light candles. ---------------------------------------------- REFLECTION STATIONS: (Five stations are set up: 3 on left side of church, 2 in the narthex) 1. An example of this week's station lay out is set up on the table in the sacristry. The Crate marked "THIS WEEK'S REFLECTION STATIONS" contains the elements you will need for each station. Review stations and do last minute work (if necessary) such as putting instruction sheets on station Scroll Blocks and Reflection Cards in Card rack. There is a numbered crate for each station (1-5). Make sure each crate has all the elements needed. 2. Retrieve 3 Station Table tops from Choir loft and put them on heaters. 3. Set up the stations 4. Retrieve the Rice Paper dividers which are stored in the Sacristry closet Add 2 Rice Paper dividers to Stations 1-3. First divider is shaped like a squareish U around station. It should be up against pews. Place second divider like a sideways C form an exit hall way out of station. It should touch the heater and the pew. Adjust dividers so they line up with entrance and exit pews. 5. Light candles or whatever else is necesary to complete stations 6. When everything has been set up, make your last step to pull the Pew Banner over the length of the pews on the left side. ---------------------------------------- 3. ART STATIONS: There are two tables - one to view classic art and one for people to create their own. For the Classic Art, Numbered sets of Art are stored in the Sacristry. We rotate through these sets (i.e. if set #6 pieces on the first row of handbell tables. Make sure the Sign "Can you turn one of these images into a prayer is also present on this table" Then set up art supplies - Notebooks and Pencils and Markers on the back row of Hand Bell Tables - ----------------------------------------- PRAYER STATION: The prayer station is created in the choir loft by moving chairs. Build up the Celtic Cross in the back cornner. Put down maroon square pads on serveral layers of steps to pray on. Set up pad to write prayer requests on. Put out several trays of tealight candles and a clicker around the cross so people can light prayer candles. On sundays when there are prayer cards they will be put in a basket and placed at the cross.
USHERS & PEWS We want to keep the people attending as close together as possible, so we have closed the balcony. We mark off the pews on the left that are specifically used for stations with special ropes. Then we mark off the whole left side with a long pew banner. If the open pews are completely full, you can pull back the pew banner several pews at a time. -------------------------------------------- HELP DESK: Set up all the materials that help people: with their children, with knowing about the church and with getting invovled: Welcome Bags, Childrens Info, Church Brochures, Mission Oppurtunities Place Son Kids sign-in sheet and info is on table Confirm Kid's Packs are available but we dont put them out till just before the the offering Place Mission Information and Adult Ed information on table Make sure a box marked "RESPONSE CARDS" is available to put on the table before people leave 10:55 Prelude LIGHTING: (Ushers) - Set lights to Red Dots, keep other lights off VIDEO: Weclome To SouthRidge slide and any loop of prelude messages

If no specific music is specified for prelude, stations, or postlude, use the three cuts on the next SouthRidge Service CD for these three spots in the service.
USHERS: 0. any special materials you need will be in the Ushers Station 1.hand out bulletin 2. Refer folks with kids to the Help Table & Ambassadors 3. Direct everyone to sit in center pews. As center becomes full, begin uhsering people to empty spots in it. If all center pews become COMPLETELY full, then fill seats in this order: Right Side (removing the pew banner a few pews at a time) Left Side from front back - removing pew banner a few pews at a time. 11:01 Welcome Welcome Greet One Another Opening Scripture 11:02 Worship Music BAND: start instrumentally as Langdon starts scripture See the Overview at the top of this outline for actual songs
11:14 Prayer & There are three basic steps to your job here: Announcements 1. Ask the people to sit 2. Lead them in prayer 3. Explain the offering, dismissal of kids and any other announcements
1. If people are not already sitting, say, "You may be seated."
2. Your prayer should not feel hurried and should feel heart felt. If possible, just do it from the heart rather than read it - but be prepared ahead of time and know generally what you want to say. It is better to only pray for a few things slowly then a lot of things quickly. It should be no more than 45 seconds (that is longer than it sounds!)
EXAMPLE: "Let's Pray..." Prayer all or some part of the P.R.A.Y: Praise, Repent, Ask, Yeild prayer.
We dont want to be repetitive - if you hear Langdon or Jason praying along certain themes, such as praising GOd, dont include that type of prayer in your time.
Include long pauses where people can pray what you have just said. For example, if you pray "We now lift up to you those we know who are in need your touch", give a long enough pause that someone can actually pray in silence "God I want to lift up to you my brother, you know the struggles he is having, I just ask that you would come into his life, etc." The best way to know how long to pause is to actually pray whole sentances in silence yourself! It should always be a little longer pause than you think it should be.
EXAMPLE PRAYER: "God we have come here because we love you. You are great and good and true and just and merciful. You alone are God. We are amazed by who you are and we want to tell you that right now...[PAUSE] "Lord we also have come here to be honest with you, to return to you, to confess to you the things we've done or failed to do, and the thoughts we've carried around this week that are not pleasing to you. We repent of these things as we name them to you now...[PAUSE] "Father, you have told us that we can come come to you and ask you the desires of our hearts. You know what they are. And so we boldly come now ask you to be at work in the parts of our lives where we are struggling, in the lives of people we care about. We name them to you now....[PAUSE] "Finally Jesus, we want to give you our whole lives. We yeild our hopes, our dreams, our future, our decisions, all that we are to you. We want your will to be done in our lives, so we yield everything to you now...[PAUSE] AMEN.
3. Email, Offering & Children's Dismissal: Usually we dont ask people to sign the Marron pad Instead, we want to give people the oppurtunity to give us their email EXAMPLE: If you would like to be kept up to date with what's happening at South Ridge, you can put your name and email on the South Ridge Response Card and place it in the offering plate.
EXAMPLE: "During the next song, We are going to take our offering to support the work of the church both locally and around the world."
Also, During the offering all children upto and including 2nd grade are invited to leave for our children's program which is called "Son Kids." They will meet their teachers in the Narthex. Also during the offering, older children who will be staying in the service can get books and kidspacks from the table out in the narthex.
4. Now lets continue to worship God with our offerings and our music. 11:16 Offering Jason: Music

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY: Shut doors as soon as possible, escort children to class 11:20 Sermon SOUND: Remember to tape the sermon VIDEO: See Highlighted Sermon Outline for cues on slide transitions. In general, try to lag the sermon - in other words, wait for the pastor to make the point and then show the slide. The exception is a direct reference to a quote from the bible or other person - something the pastor is going to directly reference himself by looking 11:38 Intro to USHERS:slide. Stations 1. PASTOR: 1."We are at a point in our service that we call "Stations" where you have the oppurtunity to join us in the Lord's Supper and to participate in art, prayer, and reflection stations located around the church. If you are new to our church, pease see the Stations Field Guide Brochure located in your pew rack to see where each different kind of station is located. The key thing is this: this is your time to use in a way that makes sense to you - you can go about to the various stations and commuion, you can just stay in your pew and pray - whatever is going to be most helpful for you. This is your time to be with God.
We practice open communion here which means regardless of your background, if you are seeking Jesus you are welcome to join us. When you come up, we'll give you a piece of bread which you dip in the cup yourself.
"While they were still eating..." As you feel ready, please come down and join us here beneath the cross. 11:40 Stations VIDEO: Show loops from WorshipScapes video. Should last until Band starts. The Band must start by 11:55 and may have a slide for you to show.
SOUND: CD Quiet Mediation music from CD. Play in background - just loud enough to block out other noises. SHOULD END BY 11:55. When you see Jason get up to get ready to play, then fade CD to silence.
Lord's Table: Pastor - breaks the bread, look each person in the eye and say "Christ broke his body for you" XXXXX come forward to hold the cup. Look each person in the eye and say: The Cup of Salvation for you /or/ Jesus shed his blood for you /or/ The Kingdom of God is at Hand. If you know the person's name and can say it "Tom, the Cup of Salvation for you" that it is great.
USHERS: Confirm the response card box is set up on the Narthex table. If you revieved any cards in the plate - put them in the box. 11:51 Regathering Jason : Regathering Song is a minimal amount of previous song theme needed to bring us to a close. AMBASSADORS: Leave a minute early, or sit in the back, so that you can be in the narthex greeting people you missed and saying good bye to ones you did meet. VIDEO: Bennidiction Slide
PASTOR: Where do we go from here? 1. If you are a visitor please grab a welcome bag on your way out - our way of saying thankyou for worshiping God with us today 2.
